Hello,

Just a bit of background information on me.  I am 30 years old, married with no children but one dog (A black Labrador called Raz).  I grew up on a farm in Somerset although never had an interest in farming, I did however enjoy the freedom it offered a got my first motorbike at about the age of 9.  I had miles of off road tracks (on the Somerset levels) literally on my doorstep, my brother and I were wholly responsible for our bikes including fuel, repairs and spares.  I have always enjoyed every aspect of biking I have had a number of bikes from my first, a Suzuki GT185 through to my current 94 YZF750R. I got my first car, a Mini it was my brothers really but we would go out and have a bit of a laugh, 2 of my brothers school mates also had minis and we would often go racing on the dirt tracks (Italian Job eat your heart out).

I left school at the age of 16 and continued to Somerset College of Arts and Technology studying BTEC National Diploma in Electronic Engineering.  Unfortunately I am easily distracted and wasted the next 3 years of my life dropping out of BTEC's and A-Levels.  (One thing I did get out of college was a wife, I met Caz while studying (not studing) at Strode College, Street and later married her).  Eventually I gave up and signed up to an employment agency where I worked for the council and numerous factories.  In a work lull I got a job at Burger King where I became manger in a very short time (wow), although it was a naff job I was able to use the position to move across to mobile phone sales.  This was a little more interesting but believe me not a lot.  I felt this was not the area I wanted to work in as I am not a sales man at heart, I built up a massive customer base for the company because of my polite and honest manner but never got rich.  In 1998 I decided to go back to college in order to get into the IT industry, I did check out computeach and other courses but felt a degree would offer better opportunities.

I joined an access course in computing offered at Bridgwater College but unfortunately I ran out of money before I was able to complete the course but this time I had focus and motivation (some people didn't believe me).  I worked for about another 18 months and restarted the access in 2000, this time I was able to complete the course and gained a position on Bsc Hons Computing for Real-Time Systems at UWE Bristol.  In the mean time however I was even able to get married to Caz in July 2001.

I am a full member of the Institute of Advanced Motorists and would highly recommend it to everyone, it is quite hard but makes you a much better and more observant and safer driver.
